Job Description

Responsibilities

Finance Manager – Multi-Asset Private Fund

Our client is a fast-growing private fund manager investing across multi-asset strategies in both public and private markets. With a genuinely diverse portfolio and continued growth, they are now looking for a Finance Manager to join their team.

While this role covers core fund accounting and investment reporting, it is a considerably broader position than a typical fund accounting mandate. The successful candidate will take ownership of financial control, tax and GST compliance, and will be a key point of contact for auditors and regulators, in addition to supporting investment operations and reporting. This is a genuine opportunity to build a long-term career on the buy-side, with the role set to develop and broaden in scope over time as the fund continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fund accounting and administration, including NAV preparation
  • Reconciliation of cash and positions against custodian statements
  • Ownership of monthly performance reporting across portfolios
  • Financial control, tax and GST filings, ensuring full regulatory compliance
  • Liaising directly with auditors and regulators on statutory matters
  • Monitoring and analysing investment performance, risk measures, and benchmark comparisons
  • Supporting KYC/AML reviews, annual statutory filings, and sundry regulatory reporting
  • Preparing investor packs and recommendations for Investment Committee and Board approval
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance reporting and operational efficiency

What They're Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics
  • 5-7 years' relevant experience in fund accounting, investment reporting, or financial control
  • Working knowledge of investment products and asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives)
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Bloomberg or other portfolio management systems advantageous
  • A self-starter who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to present to senior stakeholders

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, driven individual seeking a genuine long-term career on the buy-side. Our client is known for investing in and developing their people — training will be provided on any skill gaps, and the role offers real scope to grow in responsibility over time.
