About the role

Xianfeng International (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to Manager to join our dynamic warehousing and distribution operations in Pasir Gudang, Johor. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for career progression within our growing logistics organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, managing inventory, supervising staff, and ensuring efficient distribution of goods. This position is pivotal to our supply chain success and offers a clear pathway to senior management responsibilities within the warehousing and distribution sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatching of goods

• Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts and maintain accurate warehouse records using warehouse management systems

• Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure productivity targets and quality standards are consistently met

• Implement and maintain health and safety procedures to create a safe working environment for all personnel

• Optimise warehouse layout and storage systems to maximise efficiency and space utilisation

• Monitor and control warehouse expenses, including labour costs, utilities and equipment maintenance

• Liaise with logistics coordinators, customers and delivery personnel to ensure timely order fulfilment

• Train and develop warehouse team members, identifying training needs and supporting their professional development

• Prepare reports on warehouse performance, productivity metrics and operational challenges

• Manage equipment maintenance schedules and ensure all warehouse machinery is operating safely and efficiently

What we're looking for

• Proven 2 years experience working in a warehouse environment, ideally with some supervisory or management experience

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management and distribution processes

• Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

• Strong leadership capabilities with experience motivating and managing teams

• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual warehouse tasks when necessary

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams

• Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying operational improvements

• Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to warehouse operations

• Diploma or certification in logistics, supply chain management or warehouse operations is advantageous

• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one would be beneficial

• Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is preferred
