Position Summary
The Contract Manager, MR&I is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle for maintenance, reliability, and integrity-related services and agreements – from tendering and negotiation through execution, performance monitoring, and close-out. This role ensures that MR&I contracts (covering inspection, maintenance, reliability engineering, and integrity services) deliver value, comply with company and regulatory requirements, and are executed efficiently by contractors and vendors. The role works closely with MR&I engineers, procurement, legal, and finance to manage risk and performance across the contract portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement contracting strategies for MR&I-related services (e.g. inspection, maintenance, reliability engineering, integrity assessments).
- Lead or support the tendering process, including preparation of bid invitations, evaluation criteria, and scope of work documentation.
- Evaluate bids/proposals and lead commercial negotiations to secure competitive, compliant contract terms.
- Draft, review, and finalise contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
Contract Administration & Compliance
- Ensure contracts are properly executed, documented, and stored in accordance with company governance requirements.
- Monitor contract compliance, ensuring vendors/contractors meet contractual obligations, scope, and quality standards.
- Ensure contracts comply with relevant regulatory and industry requirements applicable to maintenance/integrity services.
- Manage contract variations, extensions, and renewals, ensuring timely processing and appropriate approvals.
Performance & Vendor Management
- Monitor contract performance and profitability, tracking KPIs, SLAs, and deliverables against agreed terms.
- Manage relationships with key MR&I contractors and vendors, resolving performance issues, disputes, or non-compliance matters.
- Report contractor work quality and non-compliance issues to the MR&I Lead and relevant stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with MR&I engineers to translate technical/operational requirements into robust contract scopes.
- Liaise with Legal and Compliance on contract risk, liability, and regulatory matters.
- Coordinate with Procurement/Supply Chain on sourcing strategy, vendor prequalification, and contract award processes.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Law, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in contract management, ideally within oil & gas, maintenance/reliability services, or a similarly regulated industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management, from tendering through to close-out.
- Familiarity with contract management software, ERP systems, and industry-specific compliance requirements.
Pay: Up to RM27,000.00 per month
