We’re looking to add an SMT Process Engineering Manager in Batu Kawan, Penang.

About the role:

This role is accountable to lead a group of engineers to achieve the company objectives that include quality, cost, delivery and new products transfer. Provide technical guidance to Engineering team in the management and execution of new projects.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical liaison with suppliers and customers on critical process and product matters.

• Liaise with equipment and test teams on product, equipment, and testing issues.

• Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities for processes, testing, and products.

• Support day-to-day engineering issues to meet customer delivery and quality requirements.

• Support supplier quality improvement initiatives and supply chain-related issues.

• Work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on technical aspects of the product.
• Drive product cost reduction initiatives and support product EOL activities to minimize scrap.

• Monitor manufacturing yield and scrap trends related to processes and products, and take appropriate improvement actions.

• Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce costs.

• Provide technical and non-technical guidance to subordinates to ensure successful production and product launches.

• Lead and maintain improvement projects to achieve individual and product department targets.

• Prepare and maintain documentation to meet ISO and quality system requirements.

• Develop subordinates’ capabilities and improve team efficiency.

• Provide growth and development opportunities for subordinates.

• Review and approve Engineering Changes, document changes, subordinate overtime, line qualifications, and deviations.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience and at least 3 years of people management experience

• Experience in electronics manufacturing services (EMS) environment.

• Possess strong leadership, technical competencies and analytical capabilities. A team player and able to interact effectively with all levels within the company.
