Safety Assistant Officer

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and proactive Safety Assistant Officer to support the implementation and monitoring of workplace safety and health practices. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring compliance with company procedures, safety requirements and applicable occupational safety and health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring workplace Safety & Health policies, procedures and programmes.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
• Assist in investigating workplace accidents, incidents and near misses and prepare the necessary reports.
• Monitor employees’ compliance with safety rules, PPE requirements and safe working practices.
• Assist in conducting safety briefings, toolbox meetings, safety training and awareness programmes.
• Maintain and update safety records, inspection checklists, reports and related documentation.
• Assist in monitoring corrective and preventive actions arising from safety inspections and audits.
• Support internal and external safety audits and inspections.
• Assist in emergency preparedness activities, including fire drills and emergency response exercises.
• Liaise with relevant departments on safety-related matters and follow up on identified issues.
• Perform any other safety-related duties assigned by the superior.

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Safety Management, Environmental Health or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and workplace safety practices is an advantage.
• Good communication, interpersonal and report-writing skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, responsible and willing to work on-site.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM3,300.00 per month
