About the Opportunity

A fast-growing global home elevator / lift business is looking for a senior Technical Head to lead its installation, commissioning, maintenance and after-sales operations in Malaysia.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for driving technical delivery, field productivity, service quality, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, while building a scalable technical organisation to support continued business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Operations & Installation

• Lead end-to-end installation, commissioning and handover of home lift projects.
• Oversee manpower planning, site readiness, project timelines and resource allocation.
• Ensure consistent installation quality, safety and technical compliance.
• Improve productivity while reducing delays, rework and variation orders.

Service & After-Sales

• Lead preventive maintenance, breakdown management, repair and service contract activities.
• Drive key KPIs including response time, callback ratio, repair closure and customer satisfaction.
• Improve service reliability and overall post-sales performance.

Leadership & Field Operations

• Lead and develop a large technical workforce comprising engineers, supervisors and field teams.
• Establish performance standards, KPIs and accountability across the technical organisation.
• Coach and develop regional technical leaders and build stronger leadership capability.
• Standardise technical processes, SOPs and best practices across the network.

Commercial & Operational Excellence

• Drive cost optimisation without compromising safety, quality or customer experience.
• Work closely with Sales, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain and CRM teams.
• Support service contract renewals and improve the commercial performance of the technical function.

Requirements

• 15–20 years of experience in technical operations, installation, service or maintenance.
• Strong experience in elevators, lifts, home lifts or vertical transportation is highly preferred.
• Proven experience managing large, multi-location technical teams, ideally 200+ employees.
• Strong knowledge of installation, commissioning, maintenance and field service operations.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience driving KPIs, productivity, cost optimisation and operational improvement.

Critical Language Requirement

Fluency in Mandarin is a MUST for this position, alongside good English communication skills.
