Responsibilities

Role Overview
The Inside Sales Manager – South Asia is responsible for providing comprehensive commercial, operational, and customer support to direct customers across the region.
The role serves as the key communication and coordination bridge between customers, the regional sales team, manufacturing plants, engineering, quality, supply chain/logistics, customer service, finance, and other internal functions.
The position is responsible for ensuring customer requirements and inquiries are communicated accurately and followed through internally, while supporting timely resolution of issues related to quotations, samples, technical inquiries, quality matters, orders, delivery schedules, import/export logistics, overdue payments, and shipment expediting.
The role works closely with the Sales Director and Regional Sales Managers to enhance customer satisfaction, improve internal response time, resolve operational issues, and support sustainable sales growth across South Asia.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
1. Direct Customer Support & Account Coordination
• Serve as a key point of contact for assigned direct customers across South Asia for day-to-day commercial and operational matters.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and ensure appropriate internal follow-up through closure.
• Coordinate closely with Regional Sales Managers to support customer requirements, priorities, and account activities.
• Maintain effective communication between customers and internal stakeholders to ensure expectations, commitments, and action items are clearly understood.
• Support customer escalation matters and ensure critical issues are communicated to the appropriate internal management team.
2. Factory & Cross-Functional Communication
• Act as the key communication bridge between South Asia customers, regional sales teams, and manufacturing plants.
• Coordinate customer requirements with factory customer service, planning, engineering, quality, supply chain, logistics, finance, and other relevant functions.
• Follow up on factory actions and provide customers and sales teams with timely and accurate status updates.
• Escalate critical factory, supply, delivery, technical, or quality issues when necessary to minimize customer impact.
3. Sample Request & New Project Support
• Coordinate customer sample requests with the factory, product management, engineering, and relevant internal teams.
• Confirm sample availability, quantity, lead time, shipping arrangements, and expected delivery dates.
• Track outstanding sample requests from submission through shipment and customer receipt.
• Support sample requirements for new projects, design-in opportunities, customer qualification, and product validation.
• Highlight urgent sample requirements that may impact customer qualification or project timelines.
4. Technical Inquiry Coordination
• Receive and coordinate customer technical inquiries relating to connectors, cable assemblies, drawings, specifications, product applications, certifications, and other product-related requirements.
• Work with product engineering, application engineering, product management, and factory technical teams to obtain accurate responses.
• Track open technical inquiries and ensure timely follow-up through closure.
• Escalate urgent technical matters that may affect design-in activities, qualification schedules, production, or customer commitments.
5. Quality Issue & Customer Complaint Coordination
• Coordinate customer quality complaints and quality-related inquiries with factory Quality teams and relevant internal stakeholders.
• Ensure necessary customer information, samples, photographs, lot/date codes, failure descriptions, and supporting documentation are collected for investigation.
• Follow up on RMA, failure analysis, corrective actions, 8D reports, replacement requirements, and other quality-related actions as applicable.
• Maintain communication with customers and Regional Sales Managers regarding investigation status and expected completion timelines.
• Escalate critical quality issues that may result in customer production line stoppage, business disruption, or significant commercial exposure.
6. Order Management & Shipment Expediting
• Support customer purchase orders from order entry through shipment and delivery.
• Monitor order acknowledgements, requested delivery dates, confirmed delivery dates, backlog, and shipment schedules.
• Coordinate urgent shipment-expediting requests with factory planning, production, supply chain, and logistics teams.
• Identify delivery risks proactively and escalate potential shortages or delays to the Sales Director and Regional Sales Managers.
• Communicate revised delivery commitments and recovery plans clearly to customers.
• Support customer pull-in, push-out, cancellation, and order-change requests in accordance with company policies.
7. Import, Export & Logistics Coordination
• Support import and export logistics requirements for South Asia customer shipments.
• Coordinate with factories, freight forwarders, logistics providers, customer service, and customers to facilitate timely shipment and delivery.
• Support preparation and verification of required commercial and shipping documentation, including invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other applicable documents.
• Assist in resolving shipment delays, customs clearance issues, documentation discrepancies, freight issues, and other logistics-related matters.
• Escalate critical logistics issues that may impact customer production or committed delivery schedules.
8. Customer Overdue Payment & Credit Coordination
• Work closely with Finance, Accounts Receivable, Regional Sales Managers, and customers to follow up on overdue payments.
• Provide customers with relevant invoice and payment information and assist in resolving payment discrepancies.
• Monitor overdue accounts and highlight potential credit or shipment-hold risks to the Sales Director and responsible sales personnel.
• Coordinate internally to resolve disputes involving invoices, pricing, quantities, delivery, debit notes, or other issues affecting payment.
• Support timely collection while maintaining professional customer relationships.
9. Quotation & Commercial Support
• Support Regional Sales Managers in preparing and following up on customer quotations.
• Coordinate pricing, MOQ, lead time, product availability, and other commercial requirements with relevant internal teams.
• Ensure quotations and customer commercial information are accurately recorded and maintained.
• Support customer requests relating to pricing, order status, product availability, and other commercial matters.
• Escalate pricing or commercial issues requiring Sales Director or management approval.
10. CRM, ERP & Data Management
• Maintain accurate customer, quotation, order, project, and activity information within CRM and ERP systems.
• Ensure customer master data and relevant commercial information are accurate and updated.
• Maintain proper records of key customer communications, outstanding actions, and escalations.
• Support Regional Sales Managers with sales reports, backlog information, customer activity tracking, and other required commercial data.
• Ensure compliance with company processes, documentation requirements, and data-governance standards.
11. Customer Escalation & Issue Resolution
• Take ownership of coordinating internal actions for urgent customer issues.
• Establish clear action owners, priorities, and expected completion dates for outstanding matters.
• Follow up proactively with internal stakeholders until issues are resolved.
• Keep customers, Regional Sales Managers, and the Sales Director informed of critical developments.
• Escalate unresolved matters promptly when additional management intervention is required.
12. Sales Director & Regional Sales Team Support
• Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the Sales Director and South Asia sales organization.
• Assist with customer reports, sales analysis, backlog reviews, order status, forecast information, and management reporting as required.
• Support preparation for customer meetings and internal sales reviews.
• Follow up on action items arising from customer meetings, sales reviews, and management discussions.
• Perform any other duties, projects, analyses, or assignments as required by the Sales Director to support the South Asia business.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, International Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
Professional Experience
• Relevant experience in inside sales, customer service, sales operations, order management, or commercial support within a B2B manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting direct customers and channel partners across multiple countries preferred.
• Experience in the electronic components, connectors, cable assemblies, electromechanical components, or related electronics manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
Manufacturing & Cross-Functional Experience
• Strong experience coordinating with manufacturing plants and cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, and Customer Service.
• Familiarity with sample requests, technical inquiries, quality complaints/RMA, order management, shipment expediting, and import/export processes is preferred.
Systems & CRM Expertise
• Hands-on experience with ERP and CRM systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other business applications.
Customer & Problem-Solving Orientation
• Strong customer-service mindset with the ability to manage urgent requests and customer escalations professionally.
• Able to identify issues, coordinate appropriate resources, establish priorities, and drive actions through to closure.
Organization & Multitasking
• Strong organizational and follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, orders, samples, technical inquiries, quality cases, and shipment priorities simultaneously.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced regional business environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
