Primary Function:

Provide mechanical engineering with responsibility for the design and analysis of mechanical systems, automation, custom test equipment, tooling/jigs, and fixtures of diverse complexity and scope.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, automation, custom test equipment, tooling/jigs, and fixtures.
• Develop design documentation required to support manufacturing, assembly, and system performance verification. This includes 2D and 3D CAD files, test documentation, manufacturing and/or assembly instructions, troubleshooting, operating manuals, etc.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)

• 5+ years of experience designing equipment and/or tooling.
• Professional design experience with Creo Elements Direct required.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative to identify and solve complex system level issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.
• Ability to plan work and accomplish objectives with minimal direction.
• Demonstrated capability to design machine plastic and metal parts.
• Excellent analytical and empirical problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, basic file structure understanding, networks, and web navigation.
