We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading interior design projects from concept development through to completion, ensuring high-quality design outcomes, technical accuracy, and timely project delivery.
You will work closely with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and the internal design team to develop creative and practical design solutions that meet project requirements, budgets, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage interior design projects from concept to completion.
- Develop creative design concepts, space planning, mood boards, material selections, and detailed design proposals.
- Prepare and review design presentations, drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Produce and oversee detailed technical drawings, layouts, elevations, and construction details.
- Coordinate with architects, M&E consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits and monitor design implementation to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Liaise directly with clients to understand their requirements and present design proposals professionally.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and design coordination to ensure projects are completed within agreed deadlines.
- Review materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, and fittings and ensure they meet the design intent and project requirements.
- Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to junior and intermediate interior designers.
- Review design work and ensure drawings and presentations meet the company's quality standards.
- Assist with project budgeting, material costing, and value-engineering exercises where required.
- Resolve design and technical issues during the project lifecycle.
- Keep up to date with current interior design trends, materials, products, and industry standards.
- Support business development activities, including client presentations, design proposals, and tenders when required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant interior design experience, preferably with experience handling projects independently.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating completed interior design projects.
- Proficient in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
- Strong knowledge of space planning, materials, finishes, furniture, lighting, and construction detailing.
- Good understanding of interior construction processes and site coordination.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client-management skills.
- Strong project management, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Able to work independently as well as lead and collaborate with a design team.
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Good attention to detail with a strong sense of design, aesthetics, and functionality.
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
Experience:
- Interior design: 3 years (Preferred)
