Role Description
The Electrical Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Selangor, Malaysia. The role involves performing routine and preventive electrical maintenance on gensets and related plant equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation of power generation systems. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing electrical issues, troubleshooting faults, and assisting with repairs and replacements of electrical components. The Electrical Technician will support installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems for turnkey projects, following engineering specifications and safety standards. The role also includes maintaining accurate maintenance records, collaborating with engineers and project teams, and adhering to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in electrical maintenance and working knowledge of electricity in industrial or power plant environments.
- Candidates should possess troubleshooting abilities for electrical systems and equipment, including fault diagnosis and corrective actions.
- Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of electrical engineering principles relevant to power generation and distribution.
- Candidates should possess practical experience handling and servicing electrical equipment such as generators, control panels, and switchgear.
- Relevant technical certificate or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, with a commitment to safe work practices in high-voltage environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous experience in power generation, cogeneration, or industrial plant maintenance is an added advantage.
