Chinese University Of Hong Kong Hiring! Full Time Research Assistant - Junior Research Assistant in New Territories, Hong Kong - Ricebowl

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree,  preferably in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline. Applicants who have not yet been awarded a Bachelor's degree may be appointed as Junior Research Assistant; (ii) working knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. Python or R) and familiarity with the Linux command line; (iii) an interest in applying computational methods to biological data, with coursework or project experience in bioinformatics, machine learning, or statistical analysis of high-dimensional data an advantage, and preferably with experience in single-cell data analysis; (iv) a good command of English in both writing and speaking; and (v) self-motivation and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Wet-lab experience is not required.  

The appointee will be responsible for (a) processing and analysing sequencing and multi-omics data, including data generated by collaborating laboratories; (b) assisting in the implementation, training and benchmarking of computational and machine-learning models; (c) maintaining analysis code, pipelines and documentation in a reproducible manner; (d) preparing analyses and figures for grant applications and manuscripts; (e) working closely with other team members and external collaborators, including presenting progress in a regular manner; and (f) performing other duties as assigned.  

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance, funding availability and mutual agreement.
