Cortex AI is building the data and deployment infrastructure for Physical AI and robotics. We work with leading AI and robotics teams globally to collect large-scale real-world data and deploy robotic systems across real-world environments.

We are rapidly expanding our operations in Johor Bahru and are looking for a hands-on Talent Acquisition Lead to help build and scale our local team.

The Role

This is a high-ownership recruiting role where you will be responsible for building the talent pipeline behind our growing robotics operations.

Your first major objective will be to help build our Johor Bahru operations team, scaling from an initial team of 5 today with 40+ additional contractors and full-time hires planned over the next few months, across Robot Operators, Robot Operator Managers, and Location Scout & Deployment Coordinator, as we rapidly expand our robotics operations.

You will own recruitment end-to-end, supported by external recruiting partners and agencies where needed — from identifying where to find the right candidates and building the pipeline, through screening, interviewing, closing and onboarding.

What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end recruitment for our Johor Bahru operations
• Develop and execute hiring strategies for robot operators, operations managers, location scouts and other operational roles
• Proactively source candidates through JobStreet, LinkedIn, Indeed, Facebook, local communities, referrals and other channels
• Build relationships with universities, colleges, vocational schools and other local talent sources
• Screen candidates and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
• Manage candidates through the full recruitment funnel, from sourcing and screening through offer, acceptance and onboarding
• Organize walk-in interviews, hiring days and other high-volume recruiting initiatives where useful
• Develop referral programs and other scalable candidate acquisition channels
• Build and maintain an active talent pipeline as our operations continue to grow
• Track recruiting metrics such as pipeline size, interviews, offers, acceptance rates, time-to-hire and hiring progress
• Work closely with our operations team to understand upcoming manpower requirements
• Continuously experiment with new sourcing channels and improve our recruitment process

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience
• Experience with high-volume, frontline or operational hiring
• Proven ability to proactively source and close candidates
• Strong understanding of the Johor Bahru / Southern Malaysia talent market
• Resourceful and comfortable building candidate pipelines from scratch
• Strong communication, interviewing and candidate-closing skills
• Highly organized and able to manage many candidates and open roles simultaneously
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of hiring outcomes
• Data-driven and comfortable tracking recruitment performance
• Able to move quickly and adapt in a fast-growing startup environment

Relevant Experience

Experience recruiting in manufacturing, factories, logistics, warehouses, electronics, automotive, technical operations, field operations or other high-volume workforces would be especially relevant.

Experience building a new operational team from the ground up or rapidly scaling a frontline workforce is a strong plus.
