Job Overview
The Solar PV Technician is a specialized field-based role responsible for performing residential solar PV panel cleaning, chemical washing, and basic preventive inspections while maintaining strict compliance with safety requirements and achieving a zero-accident safety record.
This position operates under a fixed monthly salary structure and reports directly to the Operations & Technical Supervisor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Field Execution
- Perform residential solar PV panel cleaning activities using:
o Specialized solar cleaning brushes
o Deionized water filtration systems
o Approved solar cleaning chemicals and consumables
- Ensure all cleaning activities are carried out according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain optimal solar panel performance.
- Execute field assignments efficiently while adhering to scheduled service appointments and operational requirements.
2. Preventive Maintenance
- Conduct basic preventive inspections of residential solar PV systems, including:
o Visual inspection of panel conditions
o Identification of potential hot spots
o Detection of physical cracks or panel damage
o Checking for loose cable or wiring connections
- Record inspection findings and report any abnormalities or potential issues to the Operations & Technical Supervisor.
- Assist in identifying early signs of system performance issues before they impact customer solar generation efficiency.
3. Safety Compliance
- Strictly comply with workplace safety requirements, including:
o Safe Work at Height (WAH) procedures
o CIDB Green Card requirements
o Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) guidelines
- Ensure all rooftop activities are performed safely and responsibly at residential properties.
- Properly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment at all times.
4. Equipment Handling & Maintenance
- Set up, operate, and maintain solar cleaning equipment, including:
o Solar cleaning tools
o Water filtration systems
o Cleaning kits
o Pressure washers
- Handle all equipment carefully to minimize damage, reduce depreciation, and extend asset lifespan.
- Report any equipment faults, maintenance requirements, or replacement needs to the supervisor.
5. Customer Interaction
- Represent the company professionally while performing services at customer premises.
- Respond politely to basic homeowner enquiries regarding solar cleaning and maintenance activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment throughout the service duration.
6. Operational Reporting
- Submit daily work completion reports, including:
o Completed service activities
o Site conditions
o Inspection findings
o Operational issues encountered
- Immediately report any equipment, safety, or site-related anomalies to the Operations & Technical Supervisor.
7. Ad Hoc Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Supervisor in additional operational activities, including:
o Inventory counting and verification
o Equipment calibration updates
o Minor logistics and equipment preparation tasks
- Perform other related duties or special assignments as required by the supervisor or management.
Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
