Our Client a leading bank in Asia with a global network of more than 500 branches and offices in 19 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North America, are looking for Data Engineers.
The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance, and planning support and services. They work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising, and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Malaysia and overseas branches.
The client has more than 80 years of history in the banking industry and is expanding its footprint in Malaysia.
You will be working in a newly set-up technology centre located in Kuala Lumpur as part of Technology and Operations to deliver innovative financial technology solutions that enable business growth and technology transformation.
We are looking for an Junior Java Full Stack Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, and Angular to design, develop, and enhance scalable enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, enhance and maintain enterprise applications using Core Java and Spring Boot.
Develop and integrate REST APIs and Microservices.
Develop responsive frontend applications using Angular, TypeScript, HTML and CSS.
Integrate Angular applications with RESTful backend services.
Apply Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, exception handling, collections and multithreading.
Develop scalable, secure and high-performance applications.
Work with SQL/RDBMS and perform database integration.
Write unit and integration tests and support automated testing.
Use Git, Maven/Gradle and CI/CD tools and follow DevOps practices.
Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality.
Troubleshoot application issues and perform debugging and root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with Business Analysts, developers, testers and other technology teams.
Work within an Agile development environment.
Skills
Must have
3-5 years of working experience
Strong hands-on development experience in Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
Good experience in frontend development using Angular, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and APIs.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, exception handling, collections, and multithreading.
Experience integrating Angular applications with RESTful backend services.
Knowledge of SQL/RDBMS and database integration.
Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with automated testing, code quality, and Agile development practices.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with business analysts, developers, testers, and other technology teams.
