We're building something from the ground up: a high-growth China export advertising business with real ambition and an open runway. We're looking for a driven commercial leader — with strong GCR (Greater China Region) agency market knowledge — who's ready to own the strategy, build agency relationships, and grow a business in one of the most exciting cross-border digital advertising markets today.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to maintain the status quo. It's for someone who wants ownership, enjoys building from zero to one, and is excited by the opportunity to create something with lasting impact.
You'll be shaping the go-to-market from scratch and translating China outbound advertising ambitions into measurable results across global platforms. If you want to build rather than manage, this is the role.
What You Will Do
Lead the Business
- Own the China Export agency strategy, manage pipeline, forecast with precision, and close gaps fast.
- Communicate progress clearly to regional and global stakeholders with structured, data-informed updates.
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact for GCR holding companies and export-focused agencies.
- Build senior relationships with Investment Directors, Business Directors, and Group Heads. Align on joint business plans and drive partner accountability.
- Develop acquisition, activation, and retention programs for agencies and clients.
- Lead executive business reviews, agency roadshows, and education sessions to embed the platform into agency planning cycles.
- Define and execute a go-to-market strategy targeting China outbound advertisers across travel, luxury, consumer electronics, gaming, and e-commerce.
- Identify whitespace within agency holding groups, activating new teams, trading desks, and specialist export units.
- Drive pipeline through advertiser-specific proposals, audience strategies, and campaign frameworks for international markets.
- Represent the business at local marketing and partner events; translate market intelligence into strategic decisions.
What We Are Looking For
- 7–10 years in digital media sales, agency partnerships, or sales leadership, with a track record of building revenue rather than just managing it.
- Deep fluency in the GCR agency landscape: how China export budgets are planned, allocated, and traded through holding groups.
- Proven senior-level relationship management experience. Comfortable in the boardroom and effective at working level.
- Data-driven and operationally sharp: uses analytics to set goals, diagnose problems, and prioritize action.
- Experience leading or coaching teams, setting high standards and bringing people along.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and spoken).
- Familiar with programmatic advertising, trading desks, and agency investment processes.
- A self-starter who sets their own bar, thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and doesn't wait for permission.
- Comfortable with regular travel across Hong Kong and mainland China.
Nice to Have
- Experience with audio, streaming, or entertainment advertising platforms.
- Familiarity with cross-border or multi-market campaigns for China-origin advertisers.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, or similar sales productivity/CRM tools.
Where You'll Be
Based in Hong Kong, with regular travel across Hong Kong and mainland China, and periodic collaboration with global teams. Hybrid working model.
