Role Description The Technical Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Melaka. This role is responsible for supporting daily production activities, including monitoring equipment performance, troubleshooting technical issues, and coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime. The Technical Engineer will assist in process optimization, implement engineering changes, and support quality control to ensure products meet specifications and regulatory standards. The role involves preparing technical documentation, contributing to root-cause analysis for defects, and collaborating with production, quality, and management teams to improve manufacturing efficiency. The Technical Engineer is also expected to participate in continuous improvement initiatives, support safety practices, and provide technical guidance to operational staff.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering, with the ability to understand production processes and equipment behavior.
  • Experience with troubleshooting industrial machinery, performing basic diagnostics, and coordinating repairs or preventive maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar approaches, and the ability to apply them in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and practices, including documentation of specifications, inspection results, and corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation, report writing, and use of basic engineering software or tools (e.g., CAD, data analysis, or equipment monitoring systems).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production operators, technicians, and management.
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent practical experience in a technical role.
  • Ability to work on-site in Melaka, adapt to a shift-based or manufacturing environment, and follow safety and regulatory requirements.
