Curious about how investment professionals study markets, evaluate opportunities and make informed investment decisions?

You’ll work alongside the Investment Team on research projects covering companies, funds, industries, economic developments and broader market trends.

Rather than simply following financial news, you’ll have the opportunity to investigate what is happening in the markets, understand the reasons behind major developments and explore what these changes could mean for investors.

Your Experience With the Investment Team

You may be involved in a variety of research and analytical activities, including:

• Examining companies, investment funds, industries and different areas of the global market.
• Keeping track of market movements and identifying developments that could present opportunities or risks.
• Researching economic conditions, interest rates, inflation, monetary policy and geopolitical events.
• Analysing financial information and market data to support the Investment Team’s research.
• Comparing investment funds, companies and investment strategies.
• Investigating the factors behind changes in asset prices and market performance.
• Supporting the preparation of investment reports, market commentary, presentations and research materials.
• Helping the Investment Team develop and assess investment ideas through research and analysis.
• Summarising complex financial and economic information into clear, useful insights.
• Assisting with research projects, special assignments and other analytical work undertaken by the Investment Department.
• Learning how different investment strategies and portfolio approaches are applied in different market environments.

Depending on the opportunities available, you may participate in fund manager presentations, investment briefings, seminars and industry events. You may also gain exposure to fund management companies and interact with professionals working across different areas of finance.

Throughout the internship, you’ll build practical experience working with real financial information and learn how professional investment research is conducted.

You’ll develop stronger skills in financial research, market analysis, critical thinking and communicating investment findings. More importantly, you’ll gain first-hand insight into how the Investment Department transforms research and market information into meaningful investment perspectives.

This internship is well suited for students who are considering future careers in investment management, asset management, equity research, portfolio management, wealth management, financial advisory or other areas of financial services.
