1. General School Maintenance

• Carry out routine inspection, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of school facilities, equipment, fixtures, and fittings.
• Attend to maintenance requests from staff and management in a timely manner.
• Identify maintenance issues and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimise equipment breakdowns and facility-related disruptions.
• Assist with the setup, repair, relocation, and dismantling of furniture, fixtures, and school facilities.
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and according to school procedures.
• Maintain proper records of maintenance works, repairs, inspections, and replacement parts.

2. Carpentry & Woodwork Specialisation

• Carry out carpentry and woodwork repairs, installation, and maintenance throughout the school premises.
• Repair and maintain classroom furniture, cupboards, doors, shelves, tables, chairs, cabinets, and other wooden fixtures.
• Conduct basic fabrication and modification of wooden structures and furniture where required.
• Install, adjust, and repair hinges, locks, handles, brackets, shelves, and other fittings.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and finish wood materials accurately according to requirements.
• Identify damaged or unsafe wooden structures and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
• Assist with minor renovation, partitioning, and improvement works involving carpentry.

3. Pump & Water System Maintenance

• Inspect, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot water pumps and related water supply systems within the school premises.
• Conduct routine checks on water pumps, tanks, valves, pipes, and associated equipment.
• Identify and respond to issues such as low water pressure, pump failure, leaks, unusual pump noise, or water supply disruptions.
• Carry out basic pump servicing, cleaning, adjustment, and replacement of minor components where appropriate.
• Monitor water tanks and pumping systems to ensure consistent and reliable water supply.
• Coordinate with external contractors or service providers for major pump, plumbing, or water-system repairs when required.
• Maintain basic records of pump inspections, servicing, repairs, and breakdowns.

4. Plumbing & Facility Repairs

• Perform basic plumbing works, including repairing leaking taps, pipes, toilets, sinks, valves, and other plumbing fixtures.
• Conduct minor electrical, mechanical, painting, tiling, and general repair works where qualified and appropriate.
• Respond promptly to urgent facility issues that may affect school operations, safety, or comfort.
• Assist in identifying potential safety hazards and report them to the relevant supervisor.

5. Preventive Maintenance & Safety

• Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, offices, common areas, toilets, workshops, and other school facilities.
• Follow preventive maintenance schedules for equipment, pumps, fixtures, furniture, and facilities.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, organised, and safely stored.
• Follow all applicable workplace health and safety procedures when carrying out maintenance tasks.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure safe working practices at all times.

6. Contractor & Operations Support

• Assist in supervising and coordinating external contractors for repair, maintenance, renovation, and servicing works.
• Support the Facilities/Operations team during school events, renovations, inspections, and other operational activities.
• Assist with moving furniture, equipment, and materials when required.
• Perform other maintenance and technical duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, school maintenance, or a similar technical role.
• Strong practical skills in carpentry and woodwork.
• Experience in water pump, water tank, plumbing, or water supply system maintenance is highly preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to use common hand tools and power tools safely.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physically fit and comfortable performing hands-on maintenance work.
• Able to respond to urgent maintenance issues when required.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant technical certification or vocational qualification will be an advantage.

Pay: From RM2,700.00 per month
