Role Title: SAP Logistics Solution Architect

About the Role

Our client is a premier global SAP consultancy and technology services provider, part of a worldwide delivery network with a strong presence across Asia Pacific. Their Malaysia delivery center in Cyberjaya is a key regional hub, supporting enterprise transformation programs for clients across manufacturing, life sciences, consumer products, chemicals, and energy sectors.

As a SAP S/4HANA Logistics Solution Architect, you will define and govern the end-to-end logistics solution architecture for transformation, implementation, rollout, and optimization programs. This is a senior, customer-facing role that requires both strategic architecture leadership and the ability to stay hands-on when projects demand it.

You will oversee solution architecture across multiple projects, ensuring the target solution is scalable, integrated, compliant, and aligned with SAP best practices and clean-core principles.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Solution Architecture: Define the target SAP S/4HANA logistics architecture across business processes, applications, integrations, data, security, and reporting. Lead architecture for Procure-to-Pay, Plan-to-Produce, Inventory-to-Deliver, Order-to-Cash integration, and warehouse execution.
• SAP Logistics Domain Architecture: Define architecture and functional scope across SAP S/4HANA Materials Management, Procurement, Inventory Management, Production Planning & MRP, Extended Warehouse Management (embedded or decentralized), SD logistics integration, Quality Management, Plant Maintenance spare parts, and Transportation Management.
• Fit-to-Standard & Clean-Core Governance: Lead fit-to-standard workshops with business and functional teams. Promote adoption of SAP standard processes before considering enhancements. Review and approve custom code, Fiori extensions, workflows, reports, interfaces, and BTP extensions against clean-core principles.
• Integration Architecture: Define integration patterns using APIs, IDocs, OData services, EDI, middleware, events, and SAP Integration Suite. Ensure connectivity with supplier portals, 3PL providers, manufacturing execution systems, transportation carriers, and tax/compliance systems.
• Data & Master Data Architecture: Define master data governance standards for material master, business partner, purchasing data, BOMs, routings, batches, serial numbers, and warehouse master data. Guide data migration design, cleansing, and cutover validation.
• Delivery Leadership & Quality Assurance: Provide architecture leadership throughout discovery, design, build, test, deployment, and hypercare. Lead cross-functional design reviews and resolve complex process, integration, data, and technical design issues.
• Stakeholder Management & Pre-Sales Support: Work closely with pre-sales and sales teams to articulate complex SAP solutions in business language, gaining customer buy-in and translating requirements into high-level solution proposals.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 8-10+ years of SAP functional consulting and solution design experience, with at least 3 full end-to-end S/4HANA implementations or rollouts in a lead/architect capacity.
• Core Functional Depth: Deep SPRO/IMG configuration expertise in SAP MM or SAP SD, paired with broad architectural scope across EWM, PP, QM, or TM.
• Active Hands-On Capability: Must have retained hands-on configuration skills in SPRO within the last 2-3 years (pure theoretical or "slides-only" architects will not fit this role).
• Finance Posting Acumen: Strong understanding of financial postings, revenue recognition, and cost flow triggered by logistics events.
• Business Communication: Exceptional English verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex SAP solutions simply to non-technical business leaders.
• Mobility & Setup: Willingness to work on-site from the Cyberjaya office or client war rooms (70%), with flexibility for short-term domestic travel (e.g., Ipoh, Kuantan) or occasional regional travel.
• Preferred Certifications: SAP S/4HANA certification in MM, SD, EWM, TM, or SAP Activate.
