Role Description The Front Office Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Georgetown. This position is responsible for welcoming guests, managing check-in and check-out processes, handling room reservations, and responding to guest inquiries in a professional and friendly manner. Daily tasks include answering phone calls, coordinating with housekeeping and other departments, processing payments, and maintaining accurate guest records. The Receptionist will assist with concierge-style support, such as providing local information and recommendations, and ensuring the lobby and front desk area are tidy and presentable. The role requires consistent customer-focused service, adherence to hotel policies, and support for smooth front office operations across all shifts.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Front Office and Receptionist Duties skills, including check-in/check-out, reservations handling, and guest records management.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills to deliver a welcoming, helpful, and solution-oriented guest experience.
  • Candidates should possess professional Phone Etiquette skills for managing inquiries, bookings, and internal calls clearly and courteously.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with guests and colleagues, both face-to-face and in writing.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, hotels, or customer-facing roles is an advantage.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems and reservation or property management software is beneficial.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages commonly used in Penang are an added asset.
