Responsibility

• Direct overall offshore installation operations as the appointed OIM, by exercising full command authority under the safety and regulations, to ensure safe, compliant, and continuous production operations.
• Lead EPCIC project execution and offshore commissioning activities, by managing pre-operations readiness, sailaway, mooring, hook-up, commissioning, start-up, and performance acceptance in coordination with EPCIC/shipyard contractors and client teams, to achieve a seamless, on-schedule handover from construction to operations.
• Champion HSSE leadership and performance on the installation, by enforcing permit-to-work, risk management, process safety, and emergency response systems, to achieve an incident- and injury-free operating environment.
• Manage offshore emergency response and crisis situations, by activating emergency procedures, muster and evacuation protocols, and liaison with onshore emergency support, to safeguard personnel, the asset, and the environment.
• Oversee production, marine, maintenance, and technical operations, by directing superintendents and department heads through structured work planning and performance monitoring, to sustain optimum production uptime and asset integrity.
• Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance, by liaising with the flag state, classification society, and relevant regulatory authorities and maintaining valid certifications and permits, to protect the installation's continued license to operate.
• Build offshore workforce capability, by leading manpower planning, competency assurance, performance management, and succession planning for the installation team, to ensure a competent and high-performing workforce.
• Manage client and stakeholder relations, by acting as the primary offshore point of contact for client representatives, from during construction until project delivery, to maintain confidence, transparency, and contractual compliance.
• Control installation operating costs, by monitoring OPEX, contractor performance, and resource utilization against approved budgets, to deliver cost-effective, value-for-money operations.
• Drive asset integrity and maintenance assurance, by overseeing planned/preventive maintenance, inspection, and defect elimination programs, to sustain equipment reliability and extend asset life.
• Coordinate offshore logistics and marine support activities, by managing vessel movements, helicopter operations, and personnel/material transfers, to ensure safe, efficient, and timely offshore logistics.

Education & Certification (Mandatory)

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, or Petroleum) or Nautical Science, or an equivalent technical discipline recognized by a maritime/petroleum authority.
• Valid Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) Controlling Emergencies Certificate (OPITO-approved or equivalent) — mandatory.
• Valid Offshore Survival (BOSIET/FOET), HUET, and Offshore Medical Fitness Certificate.
• Valid Marine Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner/Class 1) or Chief Engineer certification, where applicable to background.

Working Experience

• Minimum 15 years of progressive offshore Oil & Gas Operations & Maintenance (O&M) experience, including at least 5 years in an OIM or equivalent senior offshore installation leadership role.
• Proven, hands-on EPCIC project execution experience — pre-operations readiness, sailaway, mooring, hook-up, offshore commissioning, start-up, and performance acceptance/handover to operations — on a newbuild or shipyard-integrated offshore facility (mandatory).
• Prior experience working directly with an EPCIC contractor/shipyard and handing over a facility to an international operator/client is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated experience operating within a multi-party project environment involving the shipyard, EPCIC contractor, client, and O&M operator.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Strong command presence, leadership, and decisive judgment under high-pressure offshore conditions.
• Thorough working knowledge of HSSE management systems, Permit-to-Work, and Process Safety Management.
• Solid understanding of the EPCIC project lifecycle and offshore commissioning/start-up sequencing.
• Effective stakeholder and client management skills, with experience engaging international shipyards and clients.
• Good command of English (spoken and written); able to lead multicultural offshore teams.
• Sound working knowledge of marine operations, production operations, and asset integrity management.
• Willing and medically fit to be based offshore and to travel to shipyard/project locations as required.
