Job Summary
You will prepare and cook dishes following standard recipes, ensure food quality and hygiene, manage kitchen operations, and coordinate with staff to deliver consistent, timely meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and standard recipes to ensure consistent quality and taste
Plan and prepare ingredients daily to support smooth kitchen operations
Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and efficiency
Check ingredient quality and freshness before use to uphold food standards
Manage food storage and implement measures to minimize food wastage
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and workplace safety to comply with regulations
Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service
Assist in menu preparation and recommend dish improvements based on feedback and observations
Train and guide junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of all kitchen equipment
Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar kitchen position
Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food hygiene standards
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
Good communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
