EY's AI & Data team is looking for an experienced Manager (Data Engineering) to help organizations build modern, scalable, and data-driven enterprises. As part of our Technology Consulting practice, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise data platforms, cloud-based data solutions, and large-scale data transformation initiatives for clients across various industries.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, data architects, data scientists, AI engineers, and technology teams to design and implement robust data solutions that enable advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and business intelligence capabilities.

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about solving complex business problems through data engineering, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms. This is a full-time role based in our Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of end-to-end data engineering engagements, including data architecture, data integration, platform modernization, and cloud migration initiatives.
• Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Lead cloud-based data transformation programs leveraging Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud technologies.
• Establish and enforce best practices in data governance, data quality, metadata management, security, and compliance.
• Design and optimize ETL/ELT frameworks for ingesting, transforming, and processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Support the development of AI, machine learning, and analytics solutions by providing reliable and scalable data foundations.
• Lead technical teams of data engineers across multiple client engagements and provide coaching and mentorship.
• Conduct architecture reviews, solution assessments, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Support business development activities, solutioning workshops, proposal responses, and client pursuits.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Data Platform Development, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data transformation or modernization initiatives.
• Experience leading technical teams and managing client-facing projects.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience developing and managing large-scale data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience working with modern data engineering technologies and frameworks.

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Experience supporting AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI solutions through data platform enablement.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Data Mesh, Data Products, or Lakehouse architectures.
• Professional certifications such as:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
• Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty
• Google Professional Data Engineer
• Prior consulting or professional services experience.
