About the role
Assunta Hospital Petaling Jaya is seeking a responsible and service-oriented PABX Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the hospital's telephone communication system and ensuring calls and messages are handled promptly and accurately. As the PABX function operates around the clock, you will work closely with hospital departments, doctors, patients, and staff to support smooth and effective communication throughout the hospital.
What you'll be doing
- Operate the hospital's PABX telephone system and handle all incoming and outgoing calls.
- Screen, transfer, and direct calls to the appropriate departments, wards, doctors, or staff members when necessary.
- Arrange and book outstation and overseas calls for patients, doctors, and staff.
- Locate doctors for wards and other hospital departments when required.
- Receive telephone messages and ensure all messages are accurately recorded in the message book.
- Record and manage disaster calls and CODE BLUE calls in accordance with hospital procedures.
- Report and maintain records of faulty telephone sets and other telephone-related issues within the hospital.
- Process charges for patients' mobile phone, trunk, and overseas calls by keying the relevant information into the computer terminal for billing purposes.
- Arrange staff coverage when PABX personnel are on leave to ensure continuous departmental operations.
- Assist with the maintenance and monitoring of telephone sets during the absence of the PABX Executive.
- Work on a 3-shift rotation to provide 24-hour PABX coverage:
- 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- 2:00 PM – 9:30 PM
- 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
What we're looking for
- Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant working experience.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to handle the console board and MDF panel.
- Responsible, mature, pleasant personality, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Comfortable working on a rotating shift basis, including night shifts, to support 24-hour hospital operations.

Pay: RM1,900.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
