Job Summary

Assist the Head Chef with daily food preparation and cooking, maintain kitchen cleanliness to FSSAI/SFA standards, manage stock and minimize wastage, and support operations during peak hours and bulk orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vegetarian and non-vegetarian curry, rice, biryani, and gravy dishes following recipes to maintain consistent taste
• Perform cutting, chopping, and food preparation tasks using basic knife skills to support kitchen operations
• Assist the Head Chef in daily food preparation and cooking to ensure timely meal service
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area according to FSSAI/SFA standards to ensure food safety
• Manage stock and ingredients efficiently to minimize wastage and control inventory
• Support kitchen operations during peak hours and bulk order preparation to meet demand
• Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a productive and positive kitchen environment
• Adapt to work schedules including weekends, public holidays, and shifts as required

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Ability to communicate in basic English to understand instructions and coordinate with team members
• Knowledge of Tamil, Hindi, or Malayalam is a plus for effective communication in a multilingual kitchen environment
