Position Overview
The Senior HR Executive is a hands-on HR generalist who independently manages core HR operations while beginning to take on broader, manager-adjacent responsibilities. The role sits between an HR Executive and an HR Manager, strong enough technically to operate with minimal supervision, and increasingly expected to exercise judgment, mentor junior staff, and contribute to HR strategy rather than only execute it.

- Payroll & Compensation — Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timely payment of salaries and statutory contributions.
- Support salary benchmarking, increment and bonus cycles, and compensation-related queries.
- Employment Documentation & Compliance — Draft, review and maintain employment contracts, offer letters, HR letters and policies for legal compliance and consistency.
- Ensure HR practices align with local labour law and stay current with legislative changes.
- Recruitment & Onboarding — Manage end-to-end recruitment for assigned roles — job postings, screening, interviews, offer negotiation.
- Design and deliver a structured onboarding experience for new hires.
- Performance Management — Design, implement and maintain the KPI and performance appraisal framework across departments.
- Coach managers on goal-setting, feedback and handling underperformance.
- Employee Relations — Serve as a first point of contact for employee grievances, conflicts and disciplinary matters, escalating appropriately.
- Promote a positive, fair and compliant workplace culture.
- Training & Development — Identify training needs and coordinate learning and development programmes, including managing government training-grant schemes where applicable.
- HR Analytics & Reporting — Maintain HR metrics and dashboards (headcount, turnover, training spend, KPI outcomes) and report insights to management.
- Mentoring — Guide and review the work of junior HR staff; act as a mentor and technical escalation point.
Requirements
- Education — Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience — > 4 years of progressive HR experience, including hands-on ownership of payroll and at least one other HR function (ER, recruitment, or performance management).
- Knowledge — Strong understanding of local employment law, statutory payroll requirements, and HR compliance.
- Systems — Proficiency with payroll and HRIS systems; strong Excel/reporting skills.
- Traits — High accuracy, discretion with confidential data, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently.
- Communication — Clear written and verbal communication, with the confidence to advise managers and present to leadership.
- Leadership potential — Demonstrated ability to guide or mentor junior colleagues; genuine interest in growing into a managerial role.
- OPEN TO MALAYSIAN CITIZENS & LOCAL RESIDENTS ONLY.
Career Path
This role is positioned as a direct pipeline into HR Manager. High performers who demonstrate sound judgment, people leadership, and the ability to operate strategically — not just operationally — are expected to be considered for promotion within 12–24 months.
