Assistant Restaurant Manager

Location: Tampoi, Johor
Salary: RM2,400 – RM2,700/month
Working Hours: 8 hours per shift
Working Days: 6 days per week
Shift: 3 shifts per day
Overtime: Available for additional hours beyond 8 hours/day

Role Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily outlet operations. You will play an important role in leading the restaurant team, maintaining smooth shift operations, monitoring sales and inventory, and ensuring high standards of food safety, service, and customer satisfaction.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with people and is comfortable managing operations in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant Manager in managing daily restaurant operations and shift activities.
• Supervise, train, and motivate crew members to maintain strong team performance.
• Assist with staff scheduling and ensure adequate manpower during peak operating hours.
• Monitor daily sales performance and support the team in achieving outlet targets.
• Assist in monitoring labor costs, food costs, and daily food wastage.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock counts, and assist with ordering ingredients and packaging supplies.
• Ensure food preparation, hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards are consistently maintained.
• Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Oversee POS and cash-handling procedures, including register counts and cash reconciliation.
• Coach crew members and provide guidance to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
• Support the implementation of company policies, procedures, promotions, and operational initiatives.
• Step in to oversee outlet operations in the Restaurant Manager's absence.

Job Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification.
• Diploma in Hospitality, Business, F&B, or a related field is an advantage.
• 1–3 years of experience in food service, restaurant operations, hospitality, or a fast-paced customer-facing environment.
• Previous supervisory or team-lead experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of sales, inventory, cash handling, and cost control.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Customer-oriented with a hands-on approach to operations.
• Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Able to stand for extended periods during working hours.

Pay: RM2,400.00 - RM2,700.00 per month
