Job Description

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced AML professional ready to take the next step in leading a Customer Due Diligence team? Join us as Team Lead CDD & EDD Operations within the FRAML umbrella! In this role, you'll provide day-to-day supervision of a team of CDD/EDD/ODD analysts, review and quality-check complex cases, and act as the first point of escalation for the team while supporting your Manager/Senior Manager in driving operational performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Team Supervision:

  • Supervise the daily activities of a team of CDD/EDD analysts, monitoring case allocation and workflow to ensure SLAs are met.
  • Act as first point of contact for team queries, providing guidance on complex or ambiguous cases.
  • Support onboarding, coaching, and on-the-job training of new and existing team members.

2. Case Review & Quality Checks

  • Review and approve CDD and EDD cases handled by the team, including higher-risk and PEP profiles, within delegated authority limits.
  • Conduct sample-based quality checks on completed cases to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to policy.
  • Provide feedback to analysts on errors or gaps identified during review, and track remediation.

3. Escalation Handling:

  • Review escalated potential name matches, suspicious activity indicators, and adverse media findings from the team.
  • Assess and recommend escalation to the Manager/FCR /Compliace for cases requiring INSAR/INSTR filing or further investigation.
  • Ensure escalations are documented and progressed within required timeframes

4. Process Automation & Data Tools:

  • Design and build Python scripts and Excel Macros/VBA to automate repetitive tasks such as data extraction, name screening consolidation, case tracking, and MI reporting.
  • Identify manual, time-consuming processes within the team's workflow and propose automation solutions to improve turnaround time and reduce human error.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing automation tools/scripts used by the team, ensuring continuity if the tool owner is unavailable.
  • Partner with IT/Digital teams where needed to scale automation solutions beyond team-level tools.

5. Process & Performance Monitoring:

  • Track team productivity, case aging, and backlog, and report status to the Manager.
  • Suggest process improvements based on day-to-day observations and team feedback.
  • Assist in implementing changes to procedures as directed by Compliance or Manager.
  • Support the Manager in preparing case files or evidence for internal reviews when required.

Requirements:

  • 4–7 years of experience in AML/CDD/EDD operations or financial crime compliance, with some experience supervising or mentoring junior staff preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, sanctions screening, and risk-based due diligence methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Python (e.g. automation scripting) and Excel Macros/VBA for process automation and reporting.
  • Experience handling escalations and reviewing higher-risk or complex customer cases.
  • Good coaching and team-support skills, with the ability to guide junior analysts.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and cross-team coordination.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CAMS, ICA) is an advantage
