Neusoft Hiring! Full Time First Class Honours intern – Hardware Test Engineer (AMD Project) in Pulau Pinang - Ricebowl

Location: GBS by the Sea, Penang (AMD R&D Lab, No manufacturing production line)

Employment Type: Contract under Neusoft Malaysia, full on-site at AMD lab

About Team

AMD GBS Penang is dedicated to pre-silicon design verification & post-silicon platform validation for laptop, server and AI GPU products.

Core scope: New chip bareboard bring-up, BIOS/firmware validation, PCIe high-speed bus debug, system-level stress test, RAS reliability & platform security verification.

This position does not involve wafer packaging, assembly or mass production manufacturing test.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct post-silicon validation on brand-new AMD laptop bareboards: power-on bring-up, POST boot debug, hardware fault triage
2. Execute system-level functional, robustness, power & thermal validation covering CPU/GPU/memory/PCIe peripherals
3. Verify BIOS firmware initialization, sleep/wake, secure boot, TPM & platform security features
4. Use oscilloscope, power supply, logic analyzer for signal integrity & hardware root cause analysis
5. Develop Python/PowerShell automated test scripts to improve regression test efficiency
6. Draft test plans, test reports, track defects via JIRA & collaborate with global AMD design teams
7. Support NPI new platform validation, document validation specs & standard operating procedures

Job Requirements

Mandatory

1. Bachelor / Master degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering or related major; First Class Honours (4.0 CGPA scale)
2. Practical board-level hardware test experience, familiar with lab measurement instruments
3. Basic understanding of X86 architecture, BIOS boot flow, PCIe or memory subsystem
4. Basic scripting skill (Python/C/C++ preferred) for test automation
5. Strong RCA & problem-solving capability, experience in full test lifecycle (plan → execute → defect close)
6. Malaysian local citizen, no work visa sponsorship needed
7. Accept contract employment with Neusoft Malaysia and work full-time at AMD GBS Penang

Preferred Qualifications

1. Past experience in Intel/AMD semiconductor pre-silicon RTL simulation or post-silicon SoC validation
2. Hands-on GPU, server or AI accelerator platform testing experience
3. Knowledge of PCIe protocol, DDR JEDEC spec, signal integrity testing
4. Able to speak, read & write Mandarin for cross-region team communication
