Job Description

Responsibilities

Jacobs is seeking a highly motivated Chartered Structural Engineer to join our team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading, managing, and delivering structural engineering projects, ensuring excellence in design, technical review, project supervision, and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage structural engineering projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, project schedules, and budget requirements.
  • Provide leadership, oversight, and technical guidance to project teams, including resident supervisors, team assistants, and other project personnel.
  • Conduct structural design reviews and provide technical expertise for site works and construction activities.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved successfully.
  • Oversee the detailed design and delivery of various infrastructure and building projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international design codes, standards, and regulations, including seismic design and environmental requirements.
  • Manage and supervise technical reviews, design audits, and value engineering/alternative design assessments for civil and structural works.
  • Prepare and present project proposals, technical reports, and other project documentation to clients and stakeholders.
Here's what you'll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Corporate Member of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) or equivalent professional institution.
  • Extensive experience in civil engineering, including project management and design review.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale building and infrastructure projects
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in liaising with government authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
