Job Overview :
The Executive, Library and Knowledge Management is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and administration of the university library. The role involves providing efficient library services to students, academic and administrative staff, managing library resources and systems, assisting with information and research services, and ensuring a welcoming and well-organized learning environment.
Job Responsibilities :
- Support the daily operations and administration of the university library.
- Provide assistance and reference services to students, lecturers, researchers, and other library users.
- Assist users in locating books, journals, databases, e-books, and other library resources.
- Manage circulation activities, including borrowing, returning, renewing, reserving, and tracking library materials.
- Assist with library membership, user registration, account enquiries, and related administrative matters.
- Maintain accurate records of library collections, transactions, users, and statistics.
- Assist in the acquisition, cataloguing, classification, processing, shelving, and inventory of library materials.
- Monitor the condition and availability of physical and electronic library resources.
- Provide basic support and guidance on the use of library databases, discovery tools, online resources, and other library technologies.
- Assist students and staff with basic information-searching and research-related enquiries.
- Support library orientations, information-literacy sessions, workshops, exhibitions, and promotional activities.
- Assist in maintaining the library website, digital resources, announcements, guides, and other communication materials where required.
- Liaise with academic departments, administrative units, publishers, vendors, and other stakeholders on library-related matters.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, statistics, presentations, correspondence, and departmental documentation.
- Monitor library facilities and report issues relating to equipment, cleanliness, security, and maintenance.
- Ensure library policies, procedures, copyright requirements, and service standards are followed.
- Support the implementation of library projects, events, system upgrades, and service improvements.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Library or designated supervisor.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the University or Library Management.
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Information Management, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a library, academic institution, information centre, or administrative environment will be an advantage.
- Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent productivity applications.
- Familiarity with library management systems, online databases, digital libraries, or information-retrieval tools is an advantage.
