ELK-Desa Resources Berhad is incorporated and domiciled in Malaysia. It was listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 18 December 2012.
ELK-Desa Resources Berhad has two business segments through its wholly-owned subsidiaries, ELK-Desa Capital Sdn Bhd and ELK-Desa Furniture Sdn Bhd.
The ELK-Desa Capital Group is primarily involved in the business of hire purchase financing for used motor vehicles as well as selling general insurance policies as an insurance agent.
The ELK-Desa Furniture Group is primarily involved in the business of trading and wholesaling of home furniture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the full internal audit cycle, from audit planning through fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up, in accordance with the approved Internal Audit Plan.
- Lead and oversee the annual ABMS and AMLA compliance reviews, ensuring compliance with Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Manage, monitor, and administer whistleblowing cases in accordance with the Company's Whistleblowing Policy and Procedures.
- Coordinate, review, monitor, and validate the implementation of Business Improvement Plans across the organization.
- Prepare accurate, concise, and timely audit and compliance reports, including root cause analysis, risk assessments, and practical recommendations.
- Present audit findings, compliance updates, and business improvement recommendations confidently to senior management, management committees, and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and oversight to team members in the execution of audit and compliance activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Business, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or membership with The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) will be an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, or Compliance, preferably within a Malaysian financial institution, hire-purchase company, or other highly regulated lending or credit environment.
- Strong understanding of internal audit methodologies, governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
