Department: Manufacturing Service / Calibration Operations

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Manufacturing RMA Technician is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, testing, and validating returned instrumentation products (RMA). You will ensure all units meet strict quality, safety, and performance specifications before they are returned to customers. This role requires strong technical expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and strict compliance with company quality systems and industry standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesRMA Processing

  • Receive and inspect customer-returned instruments and accessories.
  • Verify RMA documentation and validate product configurations.
  • Perform thorough incoming inspections to identify visible physical damage.
  • Record initial product conditions and findings accurately within the RMA system.

Troubleshooting & Repair

  • Diagnose complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults.
  • Perform both component-level and module-level troubleshooting.
  • Replace defective components according to approved engineering procedures.
  • Conduct firmware or software updates where applicable.
  • Escalate complex, unresolved technical issues to engineering teams when necessary.

Calibration & Testing

  • Perform precise calibrations using approved standards and procedures.
  • Execute comprehensive functional, performance, and safety testing.
  • Verify measurement accuracy against strict product specifications.
  • Ensure all repaired products pass final verification tests before release.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Complete repair reports, service records, and calibration data accurately.
  • Update ERP, MES, and RMA systems with real-time repair status updates.
  • Maintain complete traceability of repaired products and replacement parts.
  • Follow ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 quality requirements where applicable.
  • Comply strictly with ESD protection protocols, safety regulations, and laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain calibration equipment in proper working condition and participate in internal audits.

Continuous Improvement

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives within the workstation.
  • Identify recurring product failure trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Contribute to process improvement projects to reduce turnaround time and elevate repair quality.

Candidate ProfileTechnical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Solid knowledge of both analog and digital electronics principles.
  • Familiarity with standard test equipment, including:
  • Digital Multimeter (DMM) & Oscilloscopes
  • Power Supplies & Function Generators
  • Industry calibrators (e.g., Fluke, Keysight)
  • Understanding of instrumentation principles and measurement uncertainty is a strong advantage.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and ERP/MES system navigation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple repair activities in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or an equivalent technical discipline.
  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in electronic repair, instrumentation, calibration, manufacturing, or service operations.Note: Fresh graduates possessing strong technical knowledge and a drive to learn are highly encouraged to apply.

  • RMA Turnaround Time (TAT) & On-Time Delivery
  • First Pass Yield (FPY) & Repair Success Rate
  • Calibration Accuracy & Documentation Precision
  • Productivity (Units Repaired per Month)
  • Safety and Quality Compliance (Low Customer Return Rates)

Working Environment

  • Clean Manufacturing Service Center / Calibration Laboratory.
  • ESD-controlled workstations.
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on customer demand

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM2,700.00 per month
