Job Summary
Deliver engaging Science lessons to Primary and Secondary students, preparing them for school and national exams. Adapt teaching methods to diverse learning needs, monitor progress, and collaborate with academic teams to enhance student outcomes.
Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective Science lessons to Primary and Secondary students aligned with the Singapore MOE syllabus
Plan and prepare lessons and teaching materials that meet curriculum requirements
Prepare students for school assessments and national examinations including PSLE and GCE O-Level
Explain scientific concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to accommodate different learning needs and abilities
Monitor students’ academic progress and provide regular feedback and personalized learning support
Communicate students’ academic progress and improvement areas to parents or guardians as needed
Participate in curriculum development, lesson planning, and preparation of teaching materials
Collaborate with teachers and academic staff to maintain consistent teaching standards and improve learning outcomes
Required competencies and certifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Science, Engineering, Education, or a related discipline
Relevant Science teaching experience, preferably within the Singapore education or tuition sector
Good understanding of the Singapore MOE Science curriculum and national examination requirements
Ability to teach Science at Primary and/or Secondary levels
Strong subject knowledge with the ability to explain scientific concepts clearly and effectively
Effective communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
Patience and responsibility in working with students of varying learning abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an academic team
Proficiency in teaching Science in both English and Mandarin
Preferred competencies and qualifications
Passion for teaching and helping students build strong scientific foundations, confidence, and problem-solving skills
