We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially driven Purchasing Executive to manage procurement activities within a furniture manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate should be aggressive in sourcing and negotiation, resourceful in investigating supplier and pricing options, and possess strong analytical skills to support cost control and procurement decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily purchasing activities, including preparing and issuing Purchase Orders (PO).
- Source, compare, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
- Proactively identify and develop new suppliers and alternative sourcing options.
- Conduct market and supplier research to benchmark pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Purchase raw materials such as wood, hardware, fittings, accessories, and other materials based on production requirements.
- Follow up closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays or supply issues.
- Investigate price differences, material specifications, supplier performance, and procurement-related discrepancies.
- Analyse quotations, purchasing costs, supplier terms, and historical pricing before making recommendations.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update the supplier database.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate closely with warehouse, production, and relevant departments.
- Resolve supplier issues including delays, shortages, quality concerns, and incorrect deliveries.
- Prepare procurement reports, cost comparisons, and updates for Management.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with Company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or sourcing.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in Mandarin, as the role requires communication and correspondence with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
- Experience in furniture manufacturing or production environment is an added advantage
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Good understanding of purchasing processes and material planning
- Able to use Autocount system (PO, supplier records, basic tracking)
- Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Responsible, organised, and detail-oriented
- Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
