About the Role

Sensible Solutions Engineering Sdn Bhd is looking for a responsible, hands-on and proactive Site Supervisor to join our project delivery team.

The Site Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of site activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, according to approved drawings and specifications, with good workmanship, and in line with the project schedule.

This position requires someone who is comfortable working directly on site, coordinating subcontractors and workers, identifying problems early, and taking ownership of assigned work areas until completion.

Key Responsibilities1. Daily Site Supervision

·       Supervise daily construction and installation activities at the project site.

·       Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements and project requirements.

·       Monitor workmanship and immediately highlight any non-compliant or defective work.

·       Ensure the correct materials, tools and equipment are available before work starts.

·       Coordinate daily work activities to avoid unnecessary delays and disruption.

·       Conduct regular site walkdowns and maintain good awareness of actual site conditions.

2. Subcontractor & Worker Coordination

·       Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, workers and site activities within assigned work areas.

·       Brief subcontractors and workers on daily work priorities, sequences and requirements.

·       Ensure subcontractors have sufficient manpower and resources to achieve planned progress.

·       Monitor subcontractor productivity and workmanship.

·       Follow up closely on incomplete, defective or outstanding works until closure.

·       Escalate manpower, performance or coordination issues to the Site Engineer / Project Manager when necessary.

3. Drawing & Technical Coordination

·       Understand and work according to the latest approved construction drawings and shop drawings.

·       Ensure subcontractors are working with the latest approved drawings and information.

·       Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions before installation.

·       Coordinate with Site Engineers / Project Engineers on technical issues, RFIs and drawing clarifications.

·       Prevent unauthorized changes or installation based on outdated drawings.

4. Progress Monitoring

·       Monitor actual site progress against the planned construction schedule.

·       Report daily progress, manpower and major site activities to the Project Engineer / Project Manager.

·       Identify potential delays or constraints early and highlight them to the project team.

·       Coordinate work sequences between different trades to maintain continuous progress.

·       Support the project team in achieving weekly and overall project milestones.

5. Quality Control

·       Ensure all works meet the required workmanship and quality standards.

·       Carry out internal checks before requesting QA/QC or consultant/client inspection.

·       Ensure defective or rejected works are rectified promptly.

·       Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections, testing and closure of quality issues.

·       Maintain good housekeeping and protection of completed works.

·       Ensure completed works are properly protected from damage by subsequent activities.

6. Safety & Site Compliance

·       Ensure all workers and subcontractors comply with project EHS / Safety requirements.

·       Ensure required PPE is properly used at all times.

·       Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings and site coordination meetings.

·       Stop and report unsafe work practices or hazardous conditions immediately.

·       Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe, clean and organized condition.

·       Coordinate with the Site Safety Supervisor / Safety Officer on safety-related matters.

7. Material & Site Logistics

·       Coordinate material delivery, unloading, storage and movement within the site.

·       Verify materials delivered are suitable for the intended installation.

·       Ensure materials are properly stored and protected against damage.

·       Monitor material usage and highlight shortages before they affect site progress.

·       Coordinate access, work areas, equipment and logistics required for upcoming activities.

8. Testing, Completion & Handover

·       Support inspection, testing and commissioning activities when required.

·       Assist in identifying and closing punch-list / defect-list items.

·       Coordinate subcontractors for rectification and completion works.

·       Ensure assigned areas are fully completed before requesting handover inspection.

·       Support final cleaning, labeling, protection and project handover activities.

9. Site Reporting & Documentation

·       Maintain basic daily site records including:

o  Daily work progress

o  Subcontractor manpower

o  Site activities

o  Material deliveries

o  Inspection status

o  Site issues / constraints

o  Defect and rectification status

·       Provide site photos and progress updates when required.

·       Immediately report major site issues, delays, safety concerns or quality problems to the Project Engineer / Project Manager.

Requirements

·       Certificate / Diploma in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Building Services or related field.

·       Minimum 3–5 years of relevant site supervision experience in construction, MEP, industrial facilities or fit-out projects.

·       Candidates with experience in industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, cleanrooms, data centres, semiconductor or high-tech projects will have an added advantage.

·       Able to understand construction drawings and basic technical specifications.

·       Good knowledge of site construction methods and work sequencing.

·       Experience coordinating subcontractors and site workers.

·       Good understanding of site safety and quality requirements.

·       Able to communicate effectively with workers, subcontractors, engineers and project management.

·       Basic computer knowledge and ability to prepare simple site reports.

·       Willing to work at project sites and accommodate project working requirements when necessary.
