Job Description
Responsibilities
A civil engineer in building construction plans, designs, and oversees the construction of structural projects like buildings, foundations, and facilities to ensure they are safe, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Planning:
Review architectural and structural drawings, calculate costs for labor and materials, and prepare project schedules.
Site Management:
Supervise daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors and workers, and solve technical problems.
Quality & Safety:
Conduct site inspections, test construction materials, and enforce health and safety regulations.
Collaboration:
Act as a liaison between clients, architects, main contractors, and local authorities.
Oversee sites:
Manage daily operations and guide construction teams.
Solve problems:
Fix technical issues and design temporary support structures.
Ensure safety:
Enforce health and safety rules on the job site.
Control budgets:
Track spending and keep projects on schedule
