Responsibilities

Job Title: Java Developer

Job Summary

Design, develop, and optimize scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs and microservices for UOB’s enterprise banking applications (WAM & OPI platforms).

Key Responsibilities

  • API & Service Development: Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend microservices using Java Spring Boot.
  • API Management: Develop and support enterprise API solutions using Axway API Manager/Gateway (or equivalent platforms like Apigee, Kong, Layer 7).
  • Database & Infrastructure Integration: Integrate applications with Unix/Linux environments and enterprise databases (Oracle 12c/19c or Cassandra DB).
  • Delivery & Support: Collaborate with architects and QA teams across the SDLC, perform code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, and optimize application performance.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6–9 years of solid experience in Java development or API/microservices engineering.
  • Core Technical Skills:

o Expert-level Java Spring Boot (Mandatory).

o Hands-on experience in Axway API Gateway / Management (or Apigee/Kong/Layer 7) OR enterprise Java Spring Boot microservices.

o Strong experience with Unix/Linux environments and Oracle 12c/19c or Cassandra DB.

  • Architecture: Deep understanding of RESTful API design, microservices patterns, and secure integration.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • API Security standards (OAuth2, JWT, SSO, MFA).
  • DevOps practices (CI/CD tools, Docker, Kubernetes) and Shell scripting.
  • Monitoring tools (ELK, Splunk, Prometheus).
  • Domain knowledge in enterprise banking systems (WAM/OPI).

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month

Experience:

  • Java Developer: 6 years (Required)
