About the role

The Account Assistant is responsible for supporting the finance and accounting team in the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the company. The role involves handling accounting transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with payments and collections, and providing general support to the accounting team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and issue invoices, credit notes, payment documents, and other accounting-related documents.

• Record daily financial transactions accurately into the accounting system.

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities.

• Check invoices, receipts, purchase orders, and other supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.

• Assist in processing supplier and customer payments.

• Follow up on outstanding customer payments and assist with collection activities.

• Maintain accurate accounting records, documentation, and filing systems.

• Prepare and organize documents required for audits and tax-related matters.

• Assist in checking and verifying staff commission claims and staff expense claims.

• Communicate with customers, suppliers, and internal departments regarding billing, payments, and other accounting matters.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as AutoCount or similar accounting systems.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Detail-oriented, organized, and responsible.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Good time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

• Able to work independently as well as in a team.

• Previous experience in an accounting or finance-related role is an advantage.
