Responsibilities:

Focuses on design and development of electronics circuitries, PCBs, testing and verification methods for following hardware and software functional modules of BESS, ESM, Converters (ACDC & DCDC), and EVSE:

• BESS Control and Status including error handling such as async offline scenarios due to battery protection of over temperature, over recharge, over current and loss of communication.

• Status and Response of Converters including during initial cascade, engaging/disengaging, recharging of BESS, EV charging, EV charging suspension and termination.

• Compatibility of EV charging communication protocols (IEC 62196, 61851, 15118, GB 18487, 27930, CHAdeMO V1.0+)

• Reliability and Fault response of MQTT, OCPP clients and server communications including partial/permanent loss, or unscheduled offline due to hardware failure, network instability/degradation.

• Error (hardware and/or software) handling & recovery.

• Backend system operator operations control & historical data interface function with Web APP.

Requirement:

• Degree or above in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering.

• Proven history in driver development for MCU with C/C++ for SPI, UART/RS232/RS485/Modbus, I2C/SMBus and CAN.

• Knowledge of BMS and BESS for re-chargeable battery, requirement of battery electronics functions, determination of essential and critical parameters of BMS and BESS, communication protocols to enable tracking of battery and BESS condition, and design track record for international safety standard requirements (IEC, CE, UN, UL, CCC etc.) is advantageous.

• 3+ years of working experience in Electric Vehicle charging functions & safety requirements and digital communication protocols (CCS [e.g. IEC 61851, 62196, 15118]), GB [GB_T 18487, 27930 etc], CHAdeMO) is definite plus.

• Ability in defining failure handling methodologies and functional verification test method for various levels processing throughout foreseeable complete normal, critical, and abnormal EV charging scenarios. Critical, and abnormal scenarios include detection and handling of BESS or Grid power failure, Converter/ hardware failure, unstable/ loss of server connections.

• Ability in defining and carry out FMEA, Test Strategies/Plan, Test Method/Procedures, and Checklist for h/w s/w modules is essential.
