Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that hotel expenses are minimized through the use of effective purchasing and by obtaining the most competitive prices for goods and services.
  • Conducts regular market surveys, obtaining competitive quotations and aggressively negotiating in order to reap the maximum price benefits of purchasing power.
  • Obtains and coordinates all product and purchase specifications from the Kitchen, F&B and Canteen heads of department by means of a purchase request (SR) and maintain files of this purchase request together with purchase orders (PO).
  • Actively seek to acquire three (3) price quotations from various sources to determine the lowest cost while maintaining the best quality for any items requested by the different departments.
  • Coordinates purchase specifications for food and beverage in conjunction with purchasing, receiving and issuing.
  • Ensures that Kitchen, F&B and Canteen department receives goods and services as required and to the standards they have specified at the best possible price.
  • Conducts interviews with local suppliers, representatives and obtains information, specifications and quotations on any item required.
  • Selects reliable regular suppliers for all market list items and as much as possible, try to obtains monthly price list for daily produce and other food and beverage suppliers.
  • Establishes and maintains historical data and a library of catalogs referencing suppliers, price list.
  • Advises departments directly of any excessive purchases or consumption of inventory and to recommend practices to reduce such cost, including alternative sources for products.
  • Maintains vendor files and historical files.
  • Places all orders for non-inventory items once the purchase request has been approved by the Director of Finance and Resident Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all resort and governmental reports are compiled accurately and submitted in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • Minimum SPM qualification. Diploma/Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field is an advantage.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in purchasing/procurement is an advantage.
  • Experience in the hotel, resort, hospitality or F&B industry is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of purchasing and procurement processes.
  • Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Responsible, trustworthy and willing to learn.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
