JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the commercial vehicle workshop to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of repair and maintenance jobs.

  • Plan, assign and monitor servicing, preventive maintenance, repair and diagnostic work for commercial vehicles, including vans, lorries, trucks and other fleet vehicles.

  • Lead and supervise technicians, allocating daily jobs based on manpower availability, technical capability and job priority.

  • Monitor vehicle repair and servicing progress and ensure jobs are completed according to the required schedule.

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to technicians in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and other vehicle-related issues.

  • Inspect completed repair and maintenance work and conduct quality checks before vehicles are released.

  • Ensure preventive maintenance and servicing are carried out according to recommended schedules and company requirements to minimize vehicle downtime.

  • Coordinate closely with the Workshop Manager, workshop administration, operations team, drivers and relevant departments on vehicle status, job priorities and operational requirements.

  • Coordinate with the parts team on spare parts and materials required for workshop jobs to prevent unnecessary repair delays.

  • Ensure job orders, inspection checklists, service reports, repair records and other workshop documentation are properly completed and updated.

  • Ensure proper use, maintenance and safekeeping of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, machinery and company assets.

  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe workshop environment and ensure technicians comply with workplace safety procedures, company policies and relevant safety requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant hands-on experience in commercial vehicle repair and maintenance, preferably involving vans, lorries, trucks or fleet vehicles.

  • Prior supervisory, team leader or senior mechanic experience in an automotive workshop would be preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a hands-on working approach.

  • Good leadership skills with the ability to supervise, guide and manage a team of mechanics and technicians.

  • Familiar with workshop safety procedures, tools, equipment and diagnostic systems.

  • Possession of a valid Singapore driving license, particularly Class 3/4, would be an advantage.
