Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AVEVA/OSIsoft PI Engineer for a project involving the construction of a new PI environment and the migration of configuration and historical data from an existing system.

The engineer will review the extracted data, construct the required PI database and structures, load the historical information, and validate the completed environment.

This role requires practical experience in PI database construction and data migration, rather than only routine PI administration or user support.

Key Responsibilities

• Review extracted PI tag lists, metadata, configuration and historical-data files.
• Assess the completeness and quality of the extracted information.
• Develop the PI database build and data-migration plan.
• Create and configure PI Data Archive points/tags in bulk.
• Reconstruct PI Asset Framework databases, hierarchies, templates and attributes.
• Map source tags and metadata to the new PI environment.
• Import historical data while preserving timestamps and data-quality indicators.
• Identify missing tags, duplicate records, data gaps and configuration inconsistencies.
• Configure or support PI Interfaces, PI Connectors, OPC connections and PI Buffer Subsystems.
• Recreate or migrate PI Vision displays, where required.
• Validate and reconcile the migrated data against the source information.
• Conduct migration testing and support user acceptance.
• Produce migration records, test results and as-built documentation.
• Provide technical handover and knowledge transfer to the support team.

Key Requirements

• Hands-on experience with AVEVA PI System or OSIsoft PI System.
• Experience building or substantially rebuilding a PI Data Archive database.
• Experience creating and configuring PI points/tags in bulk.
• Experience migrating PI configuration or historical data into a new environment.
• Working knowledge of PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework, PI System Management Tools and PI Builder.
• Ability to validate migrated data and identify data-quality issues.
• Good troubleshooting and technical-documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with technical and business users.

Advantageous Experience

• PI Vision, PI Interfaces, PI Connectors or PI Buffer Subsystem.
• Working with large tag populations or high-volume time-series datasets.
• Data science, data engineering or industrial-data analytics.
• Python, SQL, Power BI or similar data-analysis tools.
• Statistical analysis, anomaly detection or data-quality assessment.
• Experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA or OPC-connected systems.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
