About the role

We are seeking an experienced estimator / quantity surveyor to join our team at Hing Lung Interior Design and Engineering Limited in the Kwun Tong District. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring the financial viability and successful delivery of our projects.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare tenders / quotations for submission, including comprehensive cost estimates, bills of quantities / schedule of rates and other tender documents for a variety of fit-out projects

• Analyse design drawings, specifications and other project documentation to identify all necessary resources, materials and labour requirements

• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing

• Provide cost advice and recommendations to project managers and clients throughout the project lifecycle

• Monitor project costs and variances, proposing solutions to maintain budgets

• Collaborate with the design and project management teams to ensure estimates align with project requirements

• Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, standards and best practices in construction estimating

What we're looking for

• Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field

• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator / Quantity Surveyor, preferably in the interior design and construction industry

• Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, costs and industry standards

• Proficient in using estimating software, spreadsheets and other relevant tools

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with experience liaising with clients, suppliers and project teams

• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
