Responsibilities
Blueprint interpretation
Read and apply engineering drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to plan tasks accurately.
Material preparation
Cut, bevel, grind, and clean metals to ensure proper fit-up and weld quality.
MIG welding tasks
Use Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) for thicker metals, structural steel, and high-volume production.
TIG welding tasks
Apply Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) for thin metals, stainless steel, aluminum, and precision projects.
Equipment setup
Operate and calibrate wire feeders, TIG torches, power sources, and fixtures.
Quality inspection
Perform visual checks, dimensional verification, and prepare for non-destructive testing (NDT).
Safety compliance
Follow OSHA/AWS standards, wear protective gear, and maintain a safe work environment.
Daily Tasks
Set up welding equipment
each morning.
Perform welding operations
across different positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
Monitor weld quality
and adjust parameters.
Inspect and finish
welded components before release.
Maintain tools
and document work logs.
