Role Description The Human Resources Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role oversees the end-to-end HR function, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and HR policy implementation for the organisation. The Human Resources Manager will partner with senior leaders to support workforce planning, learning and development initiatives, and organisational culture-building, ensuring alignment with YTL Hotels’ values and service standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing HR operations, maintaining accurate employee records, ensuring compliance with local labour laws and company policies, and supporting compensation and benefits processes. The role also involves coaching managers on HR practices, leading HR projects and process improvements, and championing employee engagement and wellbeing across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
• Direct, supervise and monitor the performance of the HR team, ensuring all HR activities are completed accurately, efficiently and within required timelines.
• Follow up on outstanding matters and take corrective action where performance, service delivery or compliance falls below expected standards.
• Ensure HR team members consistently adhere to hotel policies, HR procedures, service standards and established work processes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, reports and employee information.
• Maintain current HR status and employment information of all management and key personnel.
• Oversee the administration of payroll-related HR processes, ensuring employee records, salary rates, positions, status and other relevant information are accurate and updated.
• Conduct periodic audits of payroll and employee records to verify accuracy of titles, salary rates, employment status, allowances and other relevant information.
• Ensure changes relating to new hires, transfers, promotions, salary adjustments, resignations and terminations are properly processed and documented.
• Provide guidance and support to HODs in managing employee relations matters, including counselling, misconduct, attendance, performance and workplace conflicts.
• Ensure progressive disciplinary procedures are applied fairly, consistently and in accordance with company policy and applicable Malaysian labour laws.
• Conduct counselling sessions and disciplinary meetings where appropriate and ensure proper documentation is maintained in employee files.
• Investigate employee complaints, grievances and workplace issues objectively and recommend appropriate action.
• Monitor recurring employee relations issues and identify underlying operational or management concerns.
• Respond promptly to operational HR matters and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
• Liaise with relevant government authorities, agencies and external parties on HR-related matters where required.
