About the Role
MCCT Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and engineering coordination for electrical and M&E construction projects. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality technical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and coordinating with project teams to ensure successful project execution from design through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments for HT, LV, and ELV systems.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), load schedules, design calculations, and engineering documentation.
- Develop cost-effective designs through value engineering while ensuring compliance with ST, MS/IEC, CIDB, and client requirements.
- Support tender submissions by preparing BOQs, technical proposals, material specifications, and engineering clarifications.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, consultants, clients, vendors, and authorities to resolve technical and installation issues.
- Provide engineering support throughout project execution, including design revisions, troubleshooting, and variation order (VO) evaluations.
- Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and project handover documentation while maintaining proper document control.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's Quality Management System (QMS), support engineering audits, and drive continuous process improvements.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management or Board of Directors (BOD).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 (Five) years of experience in electrical contracting, preferably in renovation, refurbishment, and repair projects involving HT, LV, and ELV systems.
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, control panels, cable routing, grounding, and ELV systems.
- Proven ability to develop, interpret, and review electrical drawings, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and technical specifications.
- Familiar with electrical testing instruments and commissioning procedures.
- Good understanding of Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements, local authority guidelines, and Malaysian Electrical Standards (MS/IEC).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple technical tasks in a fast-paced project environment.
- Willingness to travel to assigned project sites.
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per hour
