Role Description The Assistant Contract Manager role is a contract, on-site position based in WP. Kuala Lumpur. This role supports the preparing, reviewing, and monitoring contracts, including drafting contract documentation, assisting in tender evaluations, and maintaining accurate records and contract registers. Daily activities include coordinating with project teams, vendors, and clients to clarify contract terms, tracking contract performance against milestones, and helping resolve contractual issues or variations. The Assistant Contract Manager will assist in cost monitoring, preparing progress reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and relevant industry standards. The role also involves contributing to process improvements in contract administration and supporting audits and internal reviews.

Qualifications

  • Strong contract administration skills, including drafting, reviewing, and managing construction or engineering contracts.
  • Ability to analyze project documentation, tenders, and budgets, with attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Solid understanding of basic commercial, legal, and compliance concepts related to contracts and procurement.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Proficiency in using office software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with contract or project management tools.
  • Relevant diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in construction, civil engineering, or property development environments is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in WP. Kuala Lumpur, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced project setting.
