Job Description
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day support to the kitchen team in food preparation and meal service activities.
Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, portioning and carrying out other basic preparation tasks.
Assist with the preparation and serving of meals according to established kitchen procedures.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation and kitchen areas.
Clean and sanitise utensils, cookware, equipment and work surfaces after use.
Support the receiving, checking, storage and organisation of food ingredients and kitchen supplies.
Monitor the condition and freshness of ingredients and report any concerns to the supervisor.
Follow established food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures.
Support other kitchen and food service activities as reasonably assigned by the supervisor.
