Responsibilities

Role Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Human Resources Manager to oversee the University’s HR operations and provide strategic and operational support to Management. The role will be responsible for employee relations, recruitment, HR policies, payroll, training, performance management, immigration matters and overall HR compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day HR operations and provide regular updates and advice to Management.
  • Review, develop and implement HR policies, procedures, guidelines and reward structures in line with the University’s objectives.
  • Advise Management on employee relations, disciplinary matters and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Lead the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, interviewing, selection, offer and placement.
  • Coordinate staff training and development programmes based on organisational and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee payroll administration and ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Manage performance appraisal exercises and provide relevant analysis and recommendations to Management.
  • Prepare and monitor the HR Department budget in coordination with the Finance Department.
  • Manage employee benefits, insurance renewals and related HR service providers.
  • Represent the University in industrial relations and employee relations matters where required.
  • Prepare HR reports, management papers and other documentation for meetings and decision-making.
  • Oversee immigration-related matters including Employment Pass, MOHE approval and visa applications.
  • Master / Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 – 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior HR management role.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian Labour Law, Employment Act, and HR best practices.
  • HR strategy & planning workforce planning, succession planning, organisation design
  • Performance management systems, talent management, learning & development programmes

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, HR practices, employee relations and industrial relations.
  • Experience in recruitment, payroll, performance management, training and HR policy implementation.
  • Familiarity with Employment Pass, immigration and expatriate-related processes would be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and handle confidential matters professionally.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From RM8,000.00 per month
